Scanner MIB ProjectAbstractImage scanning is rapidly growing in popularity and utility the general computer user. The availability and capability of scanning is being further enhanced by making scanners network devices. Networking scanners offers the advantages of not just device sharing, but also ease and rapidity of image file delivery/distribution as well as functional integration with printing to implement facsimile and copy capabilities. These features also add functionality to the vertically integrated applications in which image scanners have traditionally been used, such as image analysis and archiving.This document defines an SNMP Management Information Base (MIB) to provide for the management of the scanner portion of a multifunction device. A full-featured multifunction environment includes functions such as a Printer, Scanner, Facsimile, and Copier, and multiple MIBs are required to completely define the entire system. The Scanner MIB supports the following functional sub-units:
