MFPA Board of DirectorsThe MFPA is governed by the Board of Directors. The current composition of the
Board of Directors is summarized below:
Timothy Deppa, President MFPADirector of Systems Engineering -- Okidata CorporationTim Deppa is Director of Systems Engineering at Okidata Corporation. Currently he is responsible for advanced technology planning and development, as well as product engineering. He joined Okidata in 1990 as Manager of Data Communications, with responsibility for analog modems and ISDN terminal adapters. Since 1992, he has headed the Systems Engineering department, with responsibility for all Okidata products including LED and SIDM printers, inkjet printers, and fax/multi-function devices. Prior to joining Okidata, Mr. Deppa held various positions at AT&T Bell Laboratories, including custom digital signal processor IC design, and fiberoptic transmission system development including both architecture and controller design. Mr. Deppa has a total of 18 years of combined experience in the fields of printer/multi-function product planning and development, digital communication system design and development, and digital IC design. He is the co-inventor of several patents pertaining to host-based printing and object-oriented network management software. His publications have appeared in the Oki Technical Review and the IEEE Transactions on Communications. He holds a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from UC Berkeley, and a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University. He is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences and the IEEE. Mr. Deppa is currently concentrating his efforts in the areas of color printing and multi-function device planning and development. He is also focusing on identifying novel applications for new technologies such as Jini and Internet printing protocols. In addition, he is extensively involved with identifying and maintaining strategic alliances for Okidata. Mr. Deppa is listed in Who's Who in Science and Technology, and Who's Who in the World.
Raymond Lutz, Founder, TreasurerPresident, Cognisys, Inc.Currently Mr. Lutz performs Market and Technology Consulting as well as direct involvement in development projects. He directs the MFPA as the board chairman and is currently driving the BrowseFax Initiative and was an editor of the MFP-MIB standards. Mr. Lutz was the founder of the MFPA and was the editor of the initial MFPI standard.Mr. Lutz has over 20 years of experience designing and building embedded and API software for communications and distributed control systems, document management, printing, scanning and image processing, workflow, and facsimile and communications standards. Recently, Raymond has been actively involved in several start-up efforts, including Adaptra Corporation and ImagingWeb.com. Prior to joining Cognisys, Mr. Lutz held various positions including: Director of Hardware Engineering at Talaris Systems Inc. (Laser Printer Systems), Director of Architecture Engineering at Office Automation Systems (OASYS -- Laser Printer Controllers and Printer Products), and an Engineer at RDI Video Systems (Laser-Disk Entertainment Systems), Burroughs Corp. (VLSI Circuit design), Wood Industries (Hand-held data-entry equipment), and the Naval Ocean Systems Center (RF Communications). He holds a Master's Degree in Electronics Engineering. Raymond serves as the Treasurer of the organization. Greg Wong, MFPA Corp. SecretaryProduct Marketing Director, Peerless SystemsMr. Wong has been at Peerless since 1996 and is responsible for the marketing of their color and mono printing technologies & engineering services as well as their new consumer product technologies. Mr. Wong has a wide range of publishing and printing experiences over the past 20 years. His professional experience includes software development, 3-D computer graphics development, electronic pre-press server sales and marketing, network architecture design, and marketing management. He is responsible for Product Marketing and Marcom activities worldwide. Prior to joining Peerless, Mr. Wong was the Director of Marketing at a Silicon Valley Electronic Pre-press company. He also held positions as a Consulting Engineer for Apple Computer in the publishing area for several years and a Network Consulting Services Manager for Hughes Aircraft Co. Mr. Wong holds a MS in Computer Science from University of Southern California specializing in computer graphics, an MBA from Pepperdine University in Marketing, and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Hawaii. Frank MartinBrother InternationalWilliam A. WagnerDirector, Networking Technology for Imaging, NetSiliconBill has been working with Printer and Multifunction Device OEMs for the past eight years to establish and implement the ever-expanding networking capabilities that characterize the modern MFD (multifuction Device). Bill has participated in the Printer Working Group (PWG) and the MFPA from inception, working on the IEEE 1284 specifications, the Printer and Job MIBs, the IPP (internet printing protocol), and currently the MFPA MIB activity. He participates in the uPnP Imaging Work Group, and keeps tabs on applicable IEEE an IETF working groups as well as wireless initiatives. Key Staff MembersCraig Douglass, Managing Director MFPACraig Douglass, President - Converging Systems Inc.Craig Douglass is President of Converging Systems Inc. Converging Systems Inc. is a leading supplier of interactive, touch screen technology providing streaming media-based information to customers in retail environments. He is responsible for the company's technical and strategic direction as well as focuses on the firm's sales and marketing efforts. Prior to founding Converging Systems Inc., Craig Douglass formed the Computer Graphics Business Unit of Bell & Howell Company in 1983. Thereafter in 1984, he acquired a young start-up venture, Quintar Company, and in 1985 assisted in the buy-out of that division and integration of the two entities within Bell & Howell Company. While at Quintar, Mr. Douglass was responsible for product development, product planning and sales and marketing management. In 1997, Mr. Douglass assisted in the reverse merger of Quintar Company with Splash Technology making Quintar a public entity. While at Quintar, Mr. Douglass was responsible for a number of technology inventions including the first digital film recorder which produced film based output from digital (computer-based) input. Mr. Douglass also partnered in the development of the first Adobe ® PostScript ™ clone that came to market in the mid-80s and was also a major contributor to the first color corrected printer controller driving a (color) printer in the market. Mr. Douglass has a total of 21 years of combined experience in developing and executing business strategies focusing on marketing, sales, engineering and financial issues. His technical experience with printing and imaging technologies, as well as with the development and deployment of interactive kiosk systems and user interface designs is extensive. He holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Chicago, and an AB (Bachelor's) degree in Marketing and Economics from Dartmouth College. Mr. Douglass is listed in various editions of Who's Who in America. |
